Due to adverse weather conditions, a landslide has occurred near the Kadigamuwa railway station situated between the Rambukkana and Peradeniya stations resulting in soil washing onto the railway tracks and creating a hazardous situation.
The Railway Department has planned emergency repair work for tomorrow (24) and the day after (25) to address this hazard and restore the railway line.
Consequently, it has been decided to temporarily suspend all train operations between Rambukkana, Peradeniya, and Gampola during these two days.
Furthermore, the Railway Department states that arrangements have been made for passengers who had reserved and paid for seats during these two days to obtain a full refund at any railway station.
The Railway Department expresses its regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers due to the suspension of train services.
