Police sources say that it has been confirmed that the shooting death of Army Upul on the 3rd at the Grama Sanwarana Mawatha in Ragama Batuwatte was due to an internal conflict in the underworld.
The sources further say that it has been confirmed that the murder of Army Upul, a close supporter of Ganemulla Sanjeewa, was carried out as per a plan by Kehelbaddara Padme, who is hiding in Dubai.
On the 3rd, three persons who arrived at Army Upul's house in a three-wheeler called him out of the house, shot him and fled. It is reported that cases are pending in court against Army Upul in connection with several drug and other incidents.
